Your journey to the Waldhaus
Arrival

The Hotel Waldhaus is located on the edge of the village and nearby a forest, yet only a few minutes away from the village center of Bettmeralp. The skiing and hiking pleasure begins and ends at our doorstep.
Important: Bettmeralp is a car-free zone. For the last part of the journey, you take the local cableways from Betten (please enter “Grengiols Guldersand” into your GPS device). The cableways take 7 to 10 minutes to reach the plateau.
Arrival by train
The modern Swiss rail network and excellent connections mean getting here by train is easy and stress-free.
Travel to Brig with SBB (Swiss federal railways)…
…from Suisse romande: Geneva – Lausanne – Sion – Brig
…from Germany: Basel – Bern – Brig
…from Zurich: Zurich – Lucerne – Göschenen or Zurich – Bern – Brig
Continue from Brig or Göschenen with the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGBahn) train as far as the Mörel, Betten or Fiesch base station. From the base stations, the local cableway take just 7 to 10 minutes to the resort of Bettmeralp on the car-free plateau.

Arrival by car
Travelling to Betten (navigation system: Grengiols Guldersand), by car is easy with a good road and pass network and car trains. Large outside and multi-storey car parks are available at the cable car base stations. From the base stations, the local cableways take just 7 to 10 minutes to the resorts of Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp on the car-free plateau. Connections are good.

…from Suisse romande: via the A9 from Lake Geneva (follow signs for Brig – Furka)
…from Italy: over the Simplon Pass, open all year round, or with the Brig – Iselle car train
…from Germany: via Basel – Bern – Thun – Kandersteg (Lötschberg car train) – Goppenstein – Brig, continue on towards Furka; alternatively via Zurich – heading for Gotthard – Furka car train (Realp – Oberwald), and continue through Goms towards Brig;
