“Hotel Waldhaus was a delightful surprise. It was conveniently located to the Cable car and an easy walk to town. The view from the hotel was unobstructed and magnificent. The hotel offed a homey atmosphere with well tended gardens and a cozy sitting room with a welcoming fire. The cook was passionate about his profession and the food reflected his enthusiasm. Our room was very comfortable and had a balcony looking out on the mountain range. Each evening we would find our beds fluffed with a lovely chocolate on our pillows. We felt pampered here and would not hesitate to recommend it or to return. “

We stayed for 2 nights in Bettermeralp and loved the hotel. The location is very convenient (next to cable car from train station), the owners are friendly and offer excellent advice on hikes. The breakfast was delicious, featuring a big selection of jams, cheeses, fresh breads, eggs, yogurt, anything that one may want to start a day of hiking in the mountains. The rooms are clean and spacious (even the older one which we stayed in was in good working order, so I assume the more modern ones are even better), with a view of the Alps. If you care for design probably best to ask for a room in the new section of the hotel.”
